Job Description

Are you a charismatic LPN looking to further your career? Dayton Physicians Network is looking to add an LPN Lab & Injection at our Englewood location! The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team. This position provides direct patient care, administrative, environmental and organizational tasks. He/she performs a wide variety of clinical nursing and supportive duties in Clinic and is flexible in adapting to work demands. Administers a wide variety of medications and immunizations as ordered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greets patients, cleans and prepares treatment area, and assists with patient flow by escorting patient as needed; Schedules and reschedules appointments to meet patients' needs and treatment plan. Administers medications, performs procedures directed by physician and practitioners, within the Ohio Board of Nursing, LPN scope of practice; Uses two patient identifiers prior to any treatment or medication, verifies all orders; Administers multiple medications and immunizations as ordered given by different routes, safely handles and administers as ordered; Reviews and documents patient medical history including medications, allergies, and medical alerts, documents in the electronic medical record; Reviews labs of scheduled patients, informs providers of abnormal results, takes appropriate action as ordered by providers, documents all actions appropriately; Contact patients with lab and test results and indicates required follow-up, as directed; Documents all medical contacts in an accurate and timely manner; Assists physician and practitioners with relaying instructions to patients and families; Replenishes supplies and removes biohazard waste as needed; Maintains any necessary logs; Maintains all working areas in a clean and organized manner; Participates in professional development activities to keep current with job responsibilities; Follow all health care privacy and safety rules and adheres to Dayton Physicians Core Values; Interacts with all patients, staff and external organizations in a professional, polite manner at all times. Maintains state licensure, continuing education requirements, and basic life support certifications. Other duties as assigned. Required Education and/ or
Experience:
This position required an active LPN license the state(s) of practice. One (1) year of previous experience as an LPN 2-4 years' experience is preferred Current CPR certification, if not it must be obtained within 60 days of employment and kept current thereafter
General Skill Requirements:
Excellent oral and written communication Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience working with a Practice Management system. Attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position to provide excellent customer service to both our internal and external stakeholders.
