LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Interacts with residents and staff in a professional and friendly manner at all times and possesses compassion for residents. Interacts with care staff, co-workers and supervisors in a professional, respectful and caring manner at all times. Follows nursing service policies and procedures. Administers resident rights program as outlined by Federal and State regulations. Administers and documents all medication management for residents. Notifies resident's physician and family of change in resident's condition. Documents family and resident concerns with healthcare management. Reports any instances of abuse through appropriate established avenues as outlined by state regulations and/or community policy and procedure. Demonstrates high standards of ethics and personal accountability. Completes on-going training as required by state regulations. Promotes and maintains positive relationships with co-workers, residents, family members, guests, and service providers. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program in compliance with State regulations. Knowledge of state assisted living or personal care home regulations as applicable. Experience with aging-related diseases and disorders. Experience working with senior citizens. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to display compassion toward residents as appropriate. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Competent in organization and time management. Must be computer literate. Ability to work well under stress, complete assignments accurately, and work independently. Effectively communicate in English with residents and other employees. Demonstrate desire to be a team player. Other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required.

Physical Requirements:

Walk; sit; stand, sometimes for extended periods of time. Reach with hands and arms. Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Talk and hear. Ability to push, pull or lift: Up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

May require working with challenging residents. Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, families, physicians and other service providers. Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections.
