Job Description

Job Summary To create a positive first impression about the practice and to show the patients a "we care" attitude. Primarily responsible to assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the provider(s), department(s), schedule(s) and the provision of quality health care to the patient and is usually one of the first and last contacts our patients have with the facility. No Weekends, Holidays or Nights!!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Greets patients, answers phones, documents and relays accurate messages in a timely manner using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and forwarding to the provider's task list/work break. 2. Operates practice management system to schedule appointments and check patient information as necessary 3. Verifies patient and account information and make necessary corrections and referrals per company policies (collection accounts). 4. Rooms patients in EMR and alerts the provider to any unusual physical and/or emotional status of the patient and renders assistance as necessary. 5. Prepares patient for the examination (takes weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, temperature if indicated, etc.). 6. Assists the provider with patient education/teaching. 7. Informs patients of test results per provider's instructions and documents in EMR. 8. Maintain confidentiality of all current and former patients/medical records as required by HIPAA regulations and company policy. 9. Maintains equipment and/or instruments by utilizing appropriate methods of cleaning, disinfecting, or sterilizing, and storage. 10. Labels and transports specimens to the in-house lab. 11. Maintains clean, orderly, and well stocked working environment. 12. Maintains examination/procedure room in a neat and orderly fashion. 13. Attends company and departmental meetings and in-services. 14. Maintains proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the company operates in an efficient and cost-effective manner. 15. Complies with company and departmental policies and procedures. 16. Interacts with fellow employees in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
: 1. Possess time management skills, along with the ability to multitask. 2. Create and introduce new ideas to improve existing programs, policies, and/or procedures. 3. Communicate effectively and tactfully with others within the front office department, other departments, patients, and the public. Able to effectively listen, understand and respond to the needs of others. 4. Project a friendly, respectful, and professional demeanor at all times. 5. Show good moral character, pleasing personality and good personal hygiene. 6. Possess a caring, courteous, and sensitive attitude towards everyone (patients and co-workers) 7. Interact with patients in a patient and kind manner. 8. May be exposed to communicable diseases, blood, body fluids, and various chemical agents typically used in an office setting. 9. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1. Successful completion of accredited nursing program 2. Current registration in good standings with the State Board of Nursing in Ohio or Multi-State license. 3. Must have driver's license and dependable transportation. 4. Basic skills in keyboarding/typing. 5. Possess mature reasoning ability, critical thinking. 6. Possess valid CPR certification or become certified within the first 120 days. 7. Tolerate intermittent physical activities including sitting, walking, standing, stooping, carrying, and bending. 8. Possess sufficient ability to stand up and sit down at work station, be able to squat and/or stoop, to lift at least 25 pounds. Able to walk and stand for long periods of time. 9. Have professional manners.
