Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
The licensed professional nurse is a leadership and educator role, providing both patient care and education to direct reports, including researching, training, guiding and providing instruction to direct reports.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities of Licensed Professional Nurse are: Assesses the full scope of patient needs using the nursing process on a continuous basis. Provides a safe environment for patients and employees through identifying/correcting/reporting health and safety hazards. Cooperates with distribution of resources to maintain a therapeutic environment. Maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and co-workers. Accountable for nursing practice through planned and continuous professional growth and development. Uses knowledge and judgement needed to meet the nursing needs of patient. Serves in a leadership role through clinical practice, supervision, teaching and research.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate from an accredited nursing program Currently licensed as a Licensed Professional Nurse in OH or multistate licensure Minimum 1 year nursing experience.
COMPETENCIES
Communication Proficiency. Leadership. Learning Orientation. Ethical Conduct. Collaboration. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Knowledge of how to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices and regulations to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care. Skill in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
