Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide compassionate patient care during the evening shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent assessment skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where patient safety, comfort, and well-being are prioritized. The successful applicant will be instrumental in supporting patient recovery and ensuring adherence to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties Perform comprehensive physical examinations, vital sign assessments, and patient evaluations to determine care needs. Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following proper aseptic techniques and medication protocols. Monitor patients' conditions closely, recognizing signs of acute pain or deterioration, and escalate concerns appropriately. Assist with medical procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding, and wound care while maintaining sterile environments. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and case managers to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medication administration, and discharge instructions. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and practicing proper aseptic techniques at all times. Requirements Valid RN or LPN licensure in the relevant state with current certification. Prior experience in hospital medicine, critical care units (ICU), emergency room settings, or post-acute care environments such as skilled nursing or hospice is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) is beneficial. Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation procedures. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or memory care residents. Ability to perform complex patient assessments and respond effectively to acute situations like trauma or infectious disease outbreaks. Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care; ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Additional skills such as phlebotomy, ventilator management, ostomy care, or advanced wound management are advantageous but not mandatory.
