Initie and maintain medical histories on pients. Prepare and deliver oral, topical, and injectable forms of medicions while monitoring for and responding to side effects or adverse reactions. Assist in performing and managing medical procedures, physical examinions, and trements. Provide pient and family educion tailored to specific medical conditions, trement plans, and recovery goals. A Personnel Security Investigion is required. Selectees required to sign a stement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinions or must provide a recognized exemption. This position is a Testing Designed Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees required to consent to participion in random drug urinalysis testing. A pre-placement medical examinion is required. Modere to heavy lifting up to 15 pounds may be required. Immunizion screening is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificion through the American Red Cross or American Heart Associion. Advanced certificion (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS. Licensure :

A current license to practice as a practical or vocional nurse in a Ste, territory of the United Stes, or the District of Columbia; OR must have applied for a license to practice. Applicions of candides possessing a license must be accompanied by a certified or photostic copy of the license, a notarized stement testing to the fact, or a cition of the license number and Ste issuing it. Non-licensed candides who have completed their training may be appointed subject to obtaining the required license during the probionary period. Experience:

One year of nursing experience in a hospital, outpient clinic, nursing home, or other supervised medical, nursing, or pient care facility th provided a practical knowledge of human body structure and sterile techniques and procedures, performing such duties as: measuring pient's vital signs, administering immunizions or medicions via various routes, and screening or upding pient medical records. This definition of experience is typical of work performed the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your educion for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualificion requirement using experience alone--no substitution of educion for experience is permitted .
