Job Description

Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient operations. This role involves direct patient interaction, assisting with medical procedures, managing records, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications :
Medical Assistant High school diploma or GED
  • required Clinical experience is preferred Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support card.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform and document all patient interactions, including medical history, vital signs, and interventions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards. Administer prescribed medications per provider instructions and document patient response while adhering to safety protocols. Assist with and perform delegated clinical tasks and procedures following established protocols and competency guidelines. Utilize medical supplies and equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring proper maintenance and inventory control. Address age-specific physical, psychological, and cultural needs for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients while maintaining a compassionate approach. Effectively communicate with the care team to enhance coordination, prioritize patient needs, and ensure seamless workflow. Train new employees in clinic workflows respectfully and accurately while staying updated on best practices through continuing education and workshops. Communicate with insurance carriers for medication prior authorization. Respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills in changing work environments.
Skills and Abilities:

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and staff, both in person and via phone, email, or messaging systems. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times, both in patient records and in conversation. Accuracy in recording patient information, following medical protocols, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Strong ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare providers, explaining procedures and providing compassionate patient care. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple patients and tasks efficiently, and prioritize workload effectively. LPN / Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients, collaborating with physicians, healthcare team members, and patients' families to ensure safe, high-quality care. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, maintaining accurate documentation, and educating patients and families on health management and disease prevention. The RN practices within the scope of licensure and complies with regulatory, safety, and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Current Oregon Registered Nurse license without restriction required.
  • Current life support certifications relevant to assigned area required.
  • Specialty certification in designated clinical area preferred.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate, collaborative, and professional nursing care in accordance with organizational policies, standards of practice, and the direction of leadership. Plan, prioritize, and deliver patient care in a timely and effective manner, performing and documenting comprehensive nursing assessments and developing individualized nursing care plans to guide treatment. Organize and coordinate ongoing patient care by delegating tasks as appropriate, implementing evidence-based interventions, monitoring patient responses, evaluating outcomes, and documenting care delivered and patient status. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans, documenting care provided and patient responses. Safely administer and document medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols and policies. This may include, but is not limited to, review of patient allergies, completion of the medication reconciliation process, use of the five rights, and use barcode medication scanning. Collaborate and communicate effectively with providers, supervisors, and members of the interdisciplinary care team to develop patient treatment plans and support optimal patient outcomes. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provide education, instruction, and emotional support to patients and families to promote understanding, participation, and continuity of care. Advocate for ethical, holistic, patient-centered care that promotes dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity for individuals from diverse backgrounds. Contribute to assigned work unit by demonstrating a commitment to competent professional nursing practice and engaging in opportunities for professional growth. Adheres to policies, procedures, and standards of care, including safety / risk management, regulatory requirements, and relevant professional nursing organization guidelines. Identify opportunities for, and actively participate in, performance and quality improvement activities to improve clinical outcomes, healthcare delivery systems, and address patient safety and satisfaction. Adjusts to changing priorities and increased workloads to meet patient care and department needs; participate in the equitable rotation of after-hours call coverage, including weekends and holidays, as applicable to designated clinical areas.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology as well as nursing principles, practices, and standards of care. Knowledge of evidence-based practices and current professional trends in nursing. Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time effectively for the provision of patient care. Ability to operate and monitor relevant equipment within assigned clinical area. Ability to interpret, prepare and maintain patient information using the electronic health record (EHR). Skilled in making sound decisions and practicing critical thinking, especially when responding to urgent and emergent situations. Skilled in therapeutic communication with the ability explain complex medical topics. Skilled in performing service recovery to promote a positive patient experience, addressing complaints before they become grievances and escalating issues to supervisors for resolution as appropriate. Knowledge of health equity and ability to provide age-specific, culturally competent care that considers the patient's physical, psychosocial, and socioeconomic needs.
