We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Licensed Practical Nurse to assist our physicians/providers in providing quality medical care to our patients. Essential Work Duties Monitoring and responding to the prescription line by reviewing requests using the patient chart (paper or electronic), verifying with the provider as needed, and documenting appropriately. Triaging patient telephone calls for proper patient management. Giving injections and/or starting an IV line as necessary/directed. Contacting primary care physician, in/outpatient services as needed, pharmacies with prescriptions/refills as requested. Calling patients/families (following HIPAA guidelines) with results of tests, x-rays, etc. Performing any other duties as requested by the provider, Clinical Manager, Office Manager, or Practice Administrator. Maintaining a pleasant, professional, and welcoming environment for our patients and their families.
Qualifications Education:
Graduate of an accredited LPN program
Experience :
1-2 years working in a physician's office with patient care preferred, 1-2 years of healthcare experience preferred
Licensure:
Current Pennsylvania Practical Nurse licensure, CPR certification
Skills Required:
Knowledge of medical terminology, math skills, analytical skills, good communication skills, ability to work well with people pleasantly and cooperatively, ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Technical Skills:
Ability to use medical equipment, including a centrifuge, an automatic sphygmomanometer, etc. Ability to use a calculator, copier, fax machine, and computer programs.
Specific Abilities:
Accurately measure and document: blood pressure, weight, height, pulse, and body temperature; urine testing, injections SQ. Assist in patient care as requested by the physician/provider. Respond to patient requests/phone calls in a professional manner. Monitor and respond to patient prescription requests by reviewing the patient chart, verifying with the provider as needed, and documenting appropriately.
