Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting a female student as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in a school setting near Allentown, PA. In this contract role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the safety and well-being of a student who requires rescue medication and close monitoring throughout the school day, including bus transportation. This assignment begins with the summer Extended School Year (ESY) program and continues into the upcoming academic year, offering a consistent, meaningful role within a supportive educational environment.
Position Highlights:
Serve as a dedicated 1:1 nurse for a female student, delivering essential care both in the classroom and during transport. Commitment includes the ESY program (July 7, 2026 - July 30, 2026) and the regular school year (August 24, 2026 - June 10, 2027). Flexible weekly schedule ranging from 30 to 37.5 hours, depending on the school calendar and student attendance. If the student is absent, you'll have the opportunity to substitute in other rooms, ensuring continued professional development and engagement.
Qualifications:
Current, active LPN or RN license valid in Pennsylvania. Previous experience in a school environment or with pediatric nursing strongly preferred. Comfortable with medication administration, emergency procedures, and working independently. Willingness to ride the bus and monitor student safety during transportation is essential.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and monitor the student's health needs throughout the school day. Administer rescue medication as needed and document interventions. Foster a safe and supportive environment in both classroom and transportation settings. Substitute for other nursing roles within the school if the primary student is absent.
