Clients are independent in bathing, feeding, grooming, and personal hygiene.No Catheters or IVs:
Nurses are not responsible for catheter care or IV insertions.No Blood Draws:
We contract with a national lab for blood draws.Minimal Physical Requirements:
No heavy lifting or long periods of standing/walking.No Paper MARs:
We utilize an active electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR).Deliverables/Principal Results Expected:
Instruct and guide chemical dependency technicians in client care responsibilities and assignments. Orient new employees to unit-specific policies and procedures. Provide constructive feedback and direction to students/interns on the unit. Convey accurate information in a supportive and courteous manner to nursing and tech staff. Seek supervision and direction from physicians as needed. Complete nursing assessments under the direction of the RN. Handle transfers, discharges, treatment plans, progress notes, medication reconciliation, and medication administration. Monitor vital signs and follow detox protocols. Assist medical doctors as needed and provide medical lectures. Report any unusual occurrences to the nurse supervisor/program director promptly. Ensure room assignments are appropriate to clients' needs. Actively participate in departmental staff meetings. Maintain medical equipment in proper working order, while preserving confidentiality and proper boundaries. Serve as a team builder, driving continuous improvement projects with excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills. Perform other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:
Current LPN license in good standing in Pennsylvania. Previous experience in Substance Use Disorder treatment preferred.Employment Information:
