Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic educational setting, providing essential healthcare support to students and staff. This contract role offers the opportunity for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVN) and Registered Nurses (RN) to make a daily impact within a school community near New Holland, PA. You'll work closely with administrators, teachers, and families to deliver high-quality care, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for everyone on campus. For this position, you will also be prepared to provide back coverage as needed.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active LPN/LVN or RN license in the state of Pennsylvania Previous experience in a school nursing, pediatric, or community health environment strongly preferred Solid understanding of first aid, medication administration, and care planning for students Ability to respond confidently to medical emergencies and manage chronic health conditions Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families Up-to-date CPR certification Flexibility to provide backup support as requested
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and care for student illnesses and injuries, documenting all visits accurately and maintaining confidentiality Administer medications and monitor students with ongoing medical needs, such as diabetes or asthma Support individualized education and health plans (IEPs/IHPs) in collaboration with educational staff Educate students on healthy hygiene and wellness practices Ensure compliance with state health regulations and reporting procedures Communicate promptly with parents and school leaders regarding health concerns Step in to provide backup nursing coverage as scheduled or in emergencies Take advantage of a meaningful career opportunity that allows you to foster health, safety, and wellbeing in a vibrant school environment.
