Job Description

Be part of something bigger as a Dispensing Nurse (LPN) at Merakey! In our Medication-Assisted Treatment (MMT) Drug and Alcohol Program in Philadelphia, every interaction is an opportunity to change a life. The Dispensing Nurse will administer medication and therapeutic treatments per the physician's orders. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Administer/dispense methadone per State and Federal Guidelines Ensure adequate recording of the administration/dispensing transaction Ensure that the treatment plan of the physician and/or medical director is being followed Assess individual response to treatment and medication dosage/interactions Maintain all medical records including but not limited to individual charts, daily medication charts, dosage records, progress notes, Doctor's orders, etc., as required Monitor tuberculosis, HIV, and Hep C testing for all individuals, including making outside referrals when necessary Provides emergency care as needed (CPR, PMAB, Emergency Medications) Earn $33.98 per hour. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: Graduate from an accredited practical/vocational nursing program Current license as an LPN or RN in the Commonwealth of PA 1 year of nursing experience is required Experience with drawing labs, performing EKGs, wound care, and triage is required. Experience with chemically dependent populations preferred Minimum one (1) year experience with dispensing narcotic medication, preferably in substance abuse treatment including treatment of opioid dependence Current CPR certification Availability needed: Mon-Fri 6:30am-2:30pm, Sat-Sun 7:30am-1:00pm
