Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting schools during the 2026-27 academic year. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of students by providing professional nursing support and flexibility across two school sites within close proximity. The school district values teamwork, adaptability, and the dedicated care nurses bring to student populations with specialized medical needs.
Key Qualifications:
Active LPN/LVN licensure required Prior school-based nursing experience preferred Ability to adapt to varying school environments and caseloads Competency in caring for students with chronic health conditions, such as spina bifida and diabetes Strong organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple responsibilities Collaborative spirit to work seamlessly with school nursing staff and educators
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver broad daily health office support alongside the lead school nurse Provide essential medical care and supervision according to individualized student care plans Travel between two nearby campuses to meet district needs as assigned Offer substitute coverage as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or 1:1 support for up to three students (two diagnosed with spina bifida, one with diabetes) Maintain accurate health records, document services provided, and uphold strict student confidentiality Communicate effectively with families, school personnel, and other service providers The schedule is set for 35 hours per week from August 19, 2026, through May 26, 2027, aligning with the standard school calendar.
