MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Active LPN License in RI CurrentBLS CPR/AED
certification Pediatric experience required Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student, including seizure management/rescue meds, Tube feedings, Oxygen and airway management, Medication administration, lifts, toileting and hearing aid care. Must be comfortable with replacing GT independently if needed. Ability to safely implement physician orders and care plans within LPN scope of practice Compassionate, clinically strong nurse with experience caring for medically complex pediatric patients and the ability to confidently provide independent nursing care in a school environmentPreferred:
School-based nursing experienceWHAT YOU'LL DO
Maintain continuous observation of assigned student throughout the school day Administer daily G-tube feed; Will be responsible for assessing area, checking placement, implementing any orders for feedings/medications, providePRN GT/GJ-T
care. Daily medication, toileting, lift from wheelchair, rotation of AFO splints, emergency medication for seizure disorder, care of hearing aids, and support with educational needs Communicate significant status changes to family, school staff, and clinical leadership Maintain accurate and timely documentation Help maintain a safe, health focused school environment Daily attendance is extremely important for this student.
