Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation. Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following established protocols and safety standards. Assist with medical procedures such as catheterization, suturing, specimen collection, and sterile processing. Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or Cerner; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support patients with activities of daily living, including mobility assistance with Hoyer lifts and tube feeding management. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for discharge planning, case management, and coordination of care in inpatient or outpatient settings. Provide specialized care for diverse populations including seniors in assisted living or memory care units, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring hospice or palliative care. Skills Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with
ICD-9/10
coding is a plus. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to perform accurate patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations. Skilled in medication administration techniques including injections, venipuncture, and IV insertion; experience with IV infusion therapy preferred. Expertise in managing complex care needs such as Alzheimer's/dementia care, acute pain management, infectious disease care, and trauma response (Level I/II trauma centers). Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments like emergency rooms, ICU units, or urgent care clinics; experience in hospital medicine or surgical units is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for triage assessments and patient education; experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is valued. Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety; familiarity with medical imaging or laboratory procedures is beneficial.
