1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN with oncology experience for an outpatient Medical Oncology clinic, requiring Epic Ambulatory proficiency and at least one completed 13-week travel assignment. Details Outpatient oncology clinic setting within a cancer care institute Medical Oncology/Chemotherapy Infusion, Hematology, and BMT (pre- and post-transplant) patient population Adult patients (18+) Approximately 15-25 patients seen per day with CA support Uses Epic Ambulatory (required) 12-hour day shifts No weekends, no call, and no major holidays; minor holidays when the clinic is open may be scheduled Rotation among different physicians within Medical Oncology; may occasionally work with physicians in other clinic areas, though unlikely Requirements Current LPN license (license required if applicable) Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in Oncology that must be current Clinic/outpatient experience required Epic Ambulatory experience required Experience as a first assist and chaperoning providers during exams and procedures Proficiency in rooming patients including vital signs, review of systems, medication reconciliation, and weight BLS certification required Must have completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment; first-time travelers will not be considered Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility 2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration DOB and SSN required for consideration Additional Information Responsibilities include obtaining orders, processing patients for infusions, communicating clearance status, performing chart checks, setting up for procedures, and reviewing referrals Chemo nurses handle port access and blood draws Supported by department leadership, a charge nurse, team lead, CAs, and an on-site lab; physician team consists of 7 Medical Oncologists, typically each paired with an ARNP Orientation is conducted in-department and typically lasts 5 days, subject to change based on skillset and comfort level RTO of up to 7 days may be approved (excluding holidays), provided the traveler is willing to extend the contract to accommodate Former permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler Navy blue scrubs required Free parking available on site
