Job Description:
The Success Navigator provides comprehensive support services to all students participating in the Rural RNs Rise (R3) grant with a focus on removing barriers to student success and facilitating completion of healthcare pathway programs. This position serves as the primary point of contact for student support services and completion grant administration. The Success Navigator will collaborate with the Transition Pathway Coordinator, the Nursing Program Director, the Nursing faculty team, and the Dean for Health Sciences on all grant related activities. The Success Navigator will participate in instruction in the on-campus laboratory and/or clinical setting. Essential Functions Assist students with program applications and enrollment processes. Coordinate and facilitate group or individual remediation, demonstration, study sessions and academic support activities. Participate in instruction of Nursing courses and content based on need and academic qualifications. Provide career planning guidance and resume preparation assistance. Administer completion grant program including application review, award determination, and monitoring. Track student progress and outcomes throughout program participation. Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify student barriers and develop solutions. Maintain comprehensive records of student interactions and support service utilization. Coordinate with Financial Aid and Office of Belonging and Student Resources. Develop and implement retention strategies for program participants. Provide crisis intervention and referral services as needed. Design and coordinate experiences which expose students to rural healthcare environments. Support development, oversight of programs and services that result in enrollment, progression, retention and graduation growth for the service area.
Education, Training, and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field. Current Tennessee licensure or equivalent. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with data management and student information systems. Experience in healthcare education or rural community college setting.
Preferred:
Master's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field. Two (2) years experience in student support services or academic advising. Experience with grant program administration or delivery. Knowledge of financial aid processes and completion grant administration. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to relate to a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and community members. Ability to function effectively as a member of a team. Ability to travel to various campuses and clinical sites and locations. Working Conditions A minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, which may include a combination of day, evening, and weekend hours at any of the institution's locations. Normal sitting and movement in a classroom The ability to manipulate and move equipment from one location to another. •This position is funded through the Tennessee Higher Education Commission's (THEC) Rural Health Care Pathways Expansion (RHCPE) grant, Rural RNs Rise (R3): Growing Caregivers, which ends 7/31/2029. Funding of the position beyond the grant period is not guaranteed.
Hiring Salary Range :
$38,710- $46,450 This position is based at the Columbia, TN Campus.
