Job Description
General Responsibilities:
To provide daily care of the residents in the facility following all criteria set by the State Manual and the Program Director with the main focus being the oversight over all medical needs, medications and scheduling of appointments.Duties:
1. Assist in the daily maintenance of medications and overseeing that the prescriptions and counts on medications are accurate. 2. Accurately conduct monthly Medication Administration Reports (MAR) on the last day of each month. 3. Communicate with the case workers on issues or needs involving medical/dental appointments. 4. Setup all medical and dental appointments. 5. Ensure that residents EPSD&T's are performed in the allotted time frame the state has given. 6.Knowledge of medication:
side effects, benefits, counter-reactions. 7. Consult with the residents on medications they have been refusing. 8. Consult with the Nurse Practitioner on medication management. 9. Ensure all proper consent forms are signed on medications prescribed by the Nurse Practitioner, before medication is given. 10. Properly dispose of unused/refused medications and document, as so. 11. Perform all documentation in a timely manner. 12. Send resident medical bills to appropriate case worker, for payment of services to be handled. 13. Participate in the reporting and handling of crisis situations. 14. Establish a good rapport with the residents. 15. Demonstrate competence in cultural knowledge, awareness and sensitivity. 16. Maintain knowledge of community resources. 17. Maintain discipline following state guidelines. 18. Monitor residents for a safe environment at the facility. 19. Follow all applicable policies of Wayne Halfway House Inc. 20. Participate in the PQI program as requested. 21. Perform other job related duties as assigned by the Program Director.Qualifications:
Must be a Licensed Nurse with the State of Tennessee. Must have a knowledge of medications and a working knowledge of office duties.Hours:
