Job Description

Healtop Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing outpatient practice. We provide comprehensive primary care and substance use disorder treatment services in a supportive, patient-centered environment. This position is ideal for someone with experience in outpatient primary care and/or addiction medicine who enjoys working closely with patients and collaborating with providers to deliver high-quality care. Position Summary The Medical Assistant or LPN will provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers, assist with medication administration, coordinate referrals and prior authorizations, and ensure efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical history, and current medications. Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Administer medications and injections as ordered by the provider (within scope of practice). Assist with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services and patient monitoring. Process referrals to specialists and coordinate follow-up care. Complete insurance prior authorizations for medications, imaging, and procedures. Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection as appropriate. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR). Answer patient questions and provide education regarding medications and treatment plans. Manage prescription refill requests and communicate with pharmacies as needed. Maintain infection control and safety standards. Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other clinical staff to provide coordinated care.
Qualifications Required:
Current Medical Assistant certification or active Virginia LPN license. Minimum of one year of outpatient clinical experience. Experience obtaining vital signs and documenting patient information. Experience with referrals and insurance prior authorizations. Knowledge of medication administration procedures. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
Preferred:
Experience in substance abuse treatment, addiction medicine, or Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). Experience in primary care or behavioral health settings. Familiarity with Tebra EMR or similar electronic health record systems. Knowledge of Medicaid and commercial insurance processes. Schedule Full-Time or Part-Time Monday-Friday Day shift No nights or weekends Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification or active LPN license required.
Experience Outpatient clinical experience:
1 year (Preferred) Primary care: 1 year (Preferred) Substance abuse or addiction medicine: 1 year (Preferred) Prior authorizations and referrals: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred) or Active Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (Required for LPN applicants)Join our team and help provide compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals and families in our community.
