The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) cares for ill, injured, or convalescing patients/residents or persons with disabilities in a variety of care settings which may include skilled nursing or long-term care. Licensed Practical Nurses may work under the direction of a registered nurse and often direct and supervise the work of nursing assistants. What you'll do Provide basic patient care or treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations. Administer prescribed medications or start intravenous fluids. Collect samples, such as blood, urine, or sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples. Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration. Supervise nurses' aides or assistants. Care for residents by monitoring health status, feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, assisting with mobility, and serving meals and snacks. Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with residents, families, and coworkers. Document and record resident observations and health-related information in electronic systems. Communicate resident observations and health-related information to others member of the care team including coworkers, supervisors, third-party providers, and families. Learn and apply Company, Federal, State, and local rules, regulations, and policies. What you'll need Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Washington State Washington State Food Worker Card within 14 days of hire CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire Ability to understand and communicate in the English language
