Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting a student with complex medical needs for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time position offers the chance to make a significant impact by providing one-on-one nursing care to a student with a tracheostomy and unique medical challenges. Working closely with educational teams, you'll ensure continuity of care throughout the school day and during transportation, enabling the student to thrive academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
Must hold a current, valid WA LPN License/Certification. Must be fingerprinted through OSPI. Prior experience as an LPN/LVN within a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of tracheostomy care and management. Comfort and compassion working with children who have significant health and mobility needs. Meticulous attention to detail and ability to complete required documentation. Effective communication skills with students, families, and staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide vigilant, one-on-one nursing care to the assigned student throughout the school day (8:30-3:30) and while riding the bus. Monitor and manage the student's tracheostomy, mobility support, and any other prescribed medical interventions. Safely assist with specialized car seat transfers and maintain high standards of infection control. Communicate promptly with healthcare providers, parents, and school staff regarding any health status changes. Maintain accurate healthcare records and comply with all school and state reporting requirements.
