Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting a student's health and well-being throughout the 2026-2027 academic year in a rewarding school-based contract role near Puyallup, WA. This opportunity is ideal for caring, attentive LPN/LVN professionals who are passionate about providing one-on-one nursing care within an educational environment. Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule, working full-time hours of 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (Monday through Friday), totaling 35 hours per week. In this position, you will work closely with a student who faces complex medical challenges—including a tracheostomy and the absence of abdominal muscle lining—and requires specialized, comprehensive nursing care during school hours and bus transportation.
Desired Qualifications:
Current Washington State LPN license/certification Previous experience in school, pediatric, or one-on-one nursing strongly preferred Successful completion of fingerprinting through OSPI is required prior to start Strong clinical skills, especially in managing tracheostomy care and medically fragile children Compassion, excellent judgment, and professionalism in high-stakes situations Ability to communicate clearly with educators, families, and care teams
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct nursing care, including monitoring and managing tracheostomy needs Provide specialized supervision and assistance on school transportation, including use of a safety car seat Track and document the student's health status, interventions, and changes Collaborate with school staff, parents, and health professionals to ensure safe, coordinated care Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student medical information If you are dedicated to supporting students with unique medical needs and meet the required credentials, this role offers the chance to truly make a difference while working alongside a committed educational team.
