Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a dynamic young student in a school-based environment near Seattle, WA. This position is ideal for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a passion for pediatric care in educational settings.
Key Qualifications:
Current LPN/LVN license in Washington state Previous experience supporting children in school or pediatric settings preferred Expertise in tracheostomy and ventilator care is essential Ability to work independently while collaborating with school teams Excellent communication and documentation skills BLS/CPR certification (current)
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct medical care for a vibrant 5-year-old with a trach and vent, who is otherwise active and ambulatory Monitor and manage medical needs safely throughout the school day Administer medications and maintain accurate health records Collaborate with educators and staff to support the student's full participation in classroom activities Assist with transitions, transportation, and activities as needed Serve as a key liaison between family, staff, and healthcare providers
Assignment Details:
Summer session: July 7 - July 30, three mornings per week (Tue/Wed/Thu), 8am-12pm (transportation may adjust hours to 7:30-12:30) Continuing assignment for the full school year: September 8 - June 21, transitioning to five full days per week coinciding with kindergarten hours Make a difference in a child's daily life while working closely with knowledgeable school teams and gaining specialized experience in complex care.
