We are looking for a massage therapist to join our caring, experienced wellness team in our Chandler location. We offer table and chair massages and are expanding our hours and offerings. What are your job responsibilities?
Client Assessments :
Conducting thorough consultations with clients to understand their medical history, lifestyle, pain areas, and specific therapeutic needs before starting the massage. This can include reviewing intake forms or discussing any existing injuries or conditions.
Applying Various Massage Techniques :
Using techniques such as Swedish massage, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, myofascial release, and others based on the client's needs.
Pain and Tension Relief :
Aiding in the relief of muscle tension, pain, and stress, and helping with conditions like chronic pain, headaches, or muscle strains.
Targeted Treatment Plans :
Designing and modifying massage therapy plans to address specific client issues such as back pain, injury recovery, or stress management under the supervision of the treating physical therapist with insurance based clients.
Progress Monitoring :
Tracking clients' progress over time and updating treatment plans as needed based on the client's feedback and physical response and communicate to supervising physical therapist.
Post-Treatment Guidance :
Offering clients recommendations on post-massage care, such as hydration, stretching exercises, or lifestyle changes to enhance the benefits of the massage.
Lifestyle and Wellness Recommendations :
Advising clients on posture correction, ergonomics, and self-care techniques that may help prevent future discomfort or injuries.
Comfortable Environment :
Ensuring that the massage environment is relaxing and conducive to the client's comfort and privacy (e.g., adjusting room temperature, playing calming music).
Documenting Treatments :
Keeping detailed records of each insurance patient, including the client's preferences, specific techniques used, and any changes in their condition to be communicated to the supervising physical therapist.
Hygiene and Sanitation :
Maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace, including sanitizing massage tables, laundry, taking out trash, cleaning equipment, linens, and other surfaces between client sessions.
Clinic Meetings :
Participate in clinic meetings, offering feedback and conducting training as needed.
Clinic Safety :
Open, secure and close the clinic, following given instructions.
Work Environment :
Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional and compassionate manner. Provide assistance with patient check-in as needed, support the front office with appointment confirmations, and ensure effective communication of upcoming appointments.
Safety Protocols :
Adhering to health and safety regulations, including understanding contraindications for certain conditions (e.g., not massaging over open wounds, varicose veins, or certain medical conditions). Staying Current on
Techniques :
Keeping up with the latest massage therapy techniques and trends through continuing education, workshops, and certifications.
Maintaining Licensure :
Ensuring that all state or national licensure requirements are met and up to date. Coordinating with
Other Health Professionals :
If working in a clinical or physical therapy setting, the massage therapist may collaborate with other healthcare providers such as physical therapists, chiropractors, or doctors to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
Client Communication :
Building a strong rapport with clients to make them feel comfortable, and addressing any questions or concerns they may have about their treatment plan. What are some Required Qualifications? Proficiency in spoken and written English. The ability to also communicate in Spanish is preferred. Must demonstrate professional and excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills with internal staff, patients and external stakeholders at all levels. Attention to detail, maintaining a flexible and resourceful approach to effectively multi-tasking and managing workload and workflow. Ability to prioritize workloads and work calmly under pressure. Strong initiative, creativity, organizational and problem solving skills. Willingness and ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality. Excellent customer service skills. Strong relationship building skills. Ability to observe and actively listen, and good judgement in handling different personalities and emerging situations. Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment. Ability to follow directions and comply with rules. Good working knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, Google) Technology experience and/or ability to learn how to use new software. Ability to lift and move material. Professional appearance and demeanor required. Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and frequent interruptions. Good working knowledge and ability to learn general office machinery (copier, scanner, fax). Holding current state license and in good standing.
