Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time) Provides massage therapy by greeting and making guests comfortable, evaluating guest treatment needs, using rubbing compounds, massage oils and different massage techniques to ease tension, relieve pain, improve circulation, relieve stress and increase relaxation in muscles and soft tissues in different parts of the body following spa menu and treatment standards.

• 70% Provides a safe, clean, and sanitary environment by cleaning and disinfecting work area after every appointment, placing used linens in designated areas, preparing massage room for next appointment, ensuring equipment and supplies are in good repair, and notifying appropriate personnel of accidents and potential safety hazards.
• 20% Ensures massage inventory is stocked by completing and submitting supply requisitions, placing delivered inventory in cabinets, restocking linens, oils and rubbing compounds in designated areas, and submitting inventory usage reports to the Spa and Salon manager as requested.

Job Specifications:

Education and Experience:

Essential:

California Massage Therapy Council Certificate in good standing California Massage and Bodywork License in good standing 2 years of massage therapy experience

Desirable:

Associate's Degree in Massage Therapy Experience working in a resort spa setting

CPR Certified Skills and Knowledge:

Essential:

Working knowledge of various types of spa massage treatments and procedures Ability to evaluate guest needs and make best treatment recommendations Ability to demonstrate respect, sensitivity and concern for guest needs Ability to create a soothing and comfortable environment for guests Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to exert pressure through a variety of hand and arm movements Ability to use fingers, hands and arms to manipulate muscles Ability to bend and stoop Ability to interact effectively with team members and guests Ability to communicate effectively in the English language Ability to maintain professionalism and composure Ability to understand and follow verbal directives Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to accept constructive criticism Ability to appear for work on time Ability to lift up to 30lbs
