Who We Are Empirical Knead is a boutique clinical massage practice located in the heart of Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward, just steps from one of the busiest sections of the BeltLine. For nearly 20 years, we've built our reputation by helping clients move better, feel better, and improve their quality of life through our science-informed medical massage and functional bodywork model. Every treatment is guided by standardized assessment, clinical reasoning, and an individualized approach to helping people feel their best again in the body they present today. Every therapist is personally trained by our Founder and Clinical Director within our proprietary Empirical Knead Functional Model—a clinical framework developed through nearly two decades of clinical practice, teaching, and 13 years of published clinical research in collaboration with Emory University. This training is designed to teach you our proven assessment-driven clinical functional model, strengthen your assessment skills, enhance your clinical reasoning, and equip you to consistently deliver the exceptional standard of care our clients have come to expect. We're seeking a licensed massage therapist who is committed to professional growth, learning a new approach, embracing and consistently delivering our proven Empirical Knead Functional Model while maintaining the high standard of care our that clients have come to expect.

Our Client Base:

Most of our clients seek us to help with chronic pain and longstanding discomfort or recognized body restrictions. Have often times tried massage therapy or physical therapy with little to no results or relief, are recovering from surgery or post cancer treatments or life impacting accident. Who We're Looking For If you're looking for more than another massage job and want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of your clients while continuing to grow professionally, we'd love to meet you. Primary Responsibilities Deliver exceptional, assessment-driven massage and bodywork treatments. Evaluate each client's structural presentation and adapt treatment accordingly. Learn and consistently deliver the Empirical Knead Functional Model. Educate clients with appropriate movement strategies and self-care recommendations that reinforce treatment outcomes. Complete accurate SOAP documentation. Contribute to a collaborative clinical environment committed to continual learning and professional excellence. Preserve your own therapeutic strengths while practicing within our established clinical framework. The Professional Qualities We Value We're looking for therapists who demonstrate: Excellent palpation skills Professionalism and reliability Accountability Adaptability during treatment Critical thinking and sound clinical judgment Strong communication skills A commitment to continual professional growty Some experience or education in neuromuscular therapy, fascia therapy, manual lymphatic drainage are a plus! But not necessarily required. We will teach you. Technique and our model can be taught. Character, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to learning, are the qualities we value most. Schedule & Availability We're currently looking for a therapist to help meet our growing client demand during our busiest appointment times.

Ideal availability includes:

Saturdays and/or Sundays A minimum of 4 weekend days per month Two or three weekday and/or evening shifts as your client demand grows Weekend availability is especially valuable, as these are some of our highest-demand appointment times and provide an excellent opportunity to build a consistent schedule. Compensation & Growth We offer competitive percentage-based compensation, one-on-one administrative PAID training sessions during our onboard and training phase, quarterly group training and the opportunity to build a loyal client base.
