Licensed Massage Therapist PRN

Baton Rouge General Medical Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Massage Therapist to provide evidence-based medical massage therapy as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. This role supports pain management, injury recovery, mobility, stress reduction, and overall patient wellness in alignment with physician referrals and clinical protocols. Job Purpose The Medical Massage Therapist delivers therapeutic massage services to patients based on physician referrals, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Care is provided within hospital standards while adhering to all legal, ethical, safety, and compliance requirements to support optimal patient outcomes. What You Will Do Perform medical massage treatments according to physician referral and clinical care plans Conduct patient intakes, assessments, and contraindication screenings Apply therapeutic techniques including: Deep tissue massage Myofascial release Trigger point therapy Neuromuscular therapy Post-surgical or injury-related massage (as appropriate) Modify techniques based on patient conditions, comorbidities, and precautions Document treatments accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) Communicate patient progress and concerns with the healthcare team Educate patients on self-care, recovery, and wellness strategies Maintain a clean, safe, and professional treatment environment Comply with HIPAA, infection control, and hospital safety standards Participate in departmental meetings, training, and continuing education What We're Looking For Required Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program Current Louisiana Massage Therapist license Experience in medical, rehabilitation, hospital, or sports medicine settings Preferred Experience working with medically complex or clinical populations Advanced training or certification in: Medical massage Neuromuscular therapy Orthopedic massage Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team Performance Expectations This role exemplifies Baton Rouge General's commitment to: Everyday Excellence values in patient, family, and team interactions Corporate compliance, ethical conduct, and professional integrity Performance improvement and evidence-based practice Cost awareness and efficient use of resources Patient and employee safety at all times Why You'll Love Working With Us At Baton Rouge General, our patients aren't the only people we take care of—we take care of our team too.
