Job Summary:
Provide compassionate, individualized massage therapy services to patients receiving care from Minnesota Hospice. Focus on promoting pain relief, relaxation, and overall comfort by employing gentle, tailored techniques in coordination with the interdisciplinary care team. Ensure that all services align with patient needs and the plan of care established by the hospice team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
    None Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Provide massage therapy services according to each patient's individualized care plan.
    • Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment and evaluate effectiveness.
    • Perform massage therapy to alleviate symptoms and promote relaxation and comfort.
    • Observe and report pertinent patient information and changes in condition to the care team.
    • Maintain accurate patient records within 24 hours of each session.
    • Provide educational information to members of the care team to facilitate referrals and promote the utilization of massage therapy as an intervention.
    • Seek feedback from the care team regarding the effectiveness of interventions and use this information to make appropriate modifications and plans for ongoing services.
    • Provide information to the manager regarding program development and direction.
    • Build and maintain relationships with community partners to increase awareness of hospice massage therapy services and support patient-centered care initiatives.
    • Adhere to all infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines while providing massage therapy services in home, facility, and inpatient hospice settings.
    Required Skills/Abilities:
    • Knowledge of appropriate HIPAA and confidentiality
    • Maintain accurate documentation
    • Able to work as both a part of a team and independently
    • Possesses great organizational skills
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft products i.
    e. Excel, Word, etc.
    Education and Experience:
    • Current Certification as a Massage Therapist
    • Minimum of 2 year Massage Therapy experience in a healthcare setting preferred
    Physical Requirements:
    • Able to regularly lift and move up to 50lbs
    • May have prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Personal protective equipment provided, including masks
