$35.00 - $45.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Status:
Independent Contractor (1099) Position Summary Big Sky Home Health & Hospice is seeking a compassionate, professional, and dependable Contract Massage Therapist to provide therapeutic massage services to patients in home health and hospice settings. The Massage Therapist will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary care team to enhance patient comfort, relieve pain and stress, promote relaxation, and support overall quality of life. This position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families throughout the Missoula area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide therapeutic massage services to home health and hospice patients in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and organizational policies. Assess patient needs and adapt massage techniques based on medical conditions, mobility limitations, and individual goals. Support pain management, relaxation, stress reduction, circulation, and overall patient comfort. Collaborate with nurses, therapists, social workers, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Document treatments, patient responses, and service visits accurately and timely. Maintain professional boundaries and uphold patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients and caregivers on relaxation techniques and wellness practices when appropriate. Travel to patient residences and care facilities throughout the service area. Follow all infection control and safety procedures. Maintain current licensure, certifications, and liability insurance as required. QualificationsRequired Current Massage Therapist licensure in the State of Montana. Graduation from an accredited massage therapy program. Minimum one (1) year of professional massage therapy experience. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance. Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire. Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with a healthcare team. Preferred Experience working with hospice, palliative care, oncology, geriatric, or medically complex patients. Knowledge of comfort-focused and therapeutic massage techniques appropriate for seriously ill patients. Previous home health or healthcare setting experience. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, move, and carry massage equipment and supplies as needed. Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and assist with patient positioning. Ability to travel between patient locations throughout the workday. Ability to perform massage therapy treatments for extended periods. Work Environment Patient homes, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and other community-based care settings. Flexible scheduling based on patient needs and therapist availability. Independent contractor position; hours may vary. Compensation & Benefits Competitive contract rate: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour Flexible scheduling.
