In this role, you will provide personalized therapeutic massage services that relieve pain, reduce stress, and improve mobility—often in coordination with physical therapy care. Responsibilities Conduct patient assessments to develop appropriate treatment plans based on anatomy, physiology, and medical history Develop and implement customized care plans in coordination with the clinical team Collaborate with Physical Therapists (PTs), Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes Utilize approved massage therapy modalities in compliance with state regulations Maintain a calm, professional, and sanitized treatment environment Manage appointment schedules efficiently to ensure timely and high‑quality care Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient progress Educate patients on the health and wellness benefits of regular massage therapy Stay current on massage techniques, industry standards, and best practices to continually enhance service quality Experience & Professional Skills Experience providing therapeutic massage in a clinical, medical, or professional wellness setting Ability to follow treatment plans and work alongside Physical Therapists and other clinical staff Comfortable providing 15-30 minute treatment‑based massage sessions Strong communication skills and a professional, patient‑focused approach Reliable, organized, and able to manage scheduled appointments and documentation Prior experience in a physical therapy clinic, medical office, or similar healthcare setting is preferred, but not required Education & Certification Valid massage therapy license or certification in accordance with Virginia state and local regulations Formal training in therapeutic massage techniques, including deep tissue and trigger point therapy Solid foundation in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to therapeutic massage Join us in delivering exceptional care that transforms lives through healing touch!
