Job Description

Position Overview Natural Health Center LLC is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our growing multidisciplinary healthcare team. This is a dynamic role for a highly skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, demonstrates exceptional organizational abilities, and can work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience in a busy multispecialty clinic , preferably working closely with Nurse Practitioners , managing complex patient needs, and balancing both clinical and administrative responsibilities. We are looking for a self-driven, motivated individual who takes initiative, prioritizes effectively, and consistently delivers outstanding patient care. Key Responsibilities Clinical Support Obtain and document patient vital signs and medical histories. Assist providers with examinations and procedures. Perform specimen collection. Prepare patients for visits and ensure efficient patient flow. Patient Management Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care. Educate patients regarding treatment plans, testing, and provider recommendations. Manage patient records, insurance documentation, and Rx authorizations. Serve as a primary point of contact for patient questions and concerns. Laboratory & Diagnostic Services Perform urine testing and other in-office diagnostic procedures. Process and track laboratory orders and results. Operate specialized equipment, including FibroScan technology. Communicate critical findings promptly to providers. Administrative & Front Office Support Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR). Manage provider inboxes and address urgent patient messages. Coordinate provider schedules and appointment availability. Handle patient communications and prompt scheduling Perform front desk coverage as needed. Patient Triage Assess patient concerns and determine appropriate next steps. Escalate urgent issues to providers. Recommend urgent care or emergency room evaluation when appropriate. Facility & Inventory Management Maintain cleanliness and sterilization standards, including the GYN procedure room. Monitor and manage laboratory and clinical supply inventory. Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic protocols. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Completed a Certified Medical Assistant program Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required; 3+ years preferred. Experience in a multispecialty clinic strongly preferred. Experience working directly with Nurse Practitioners or advanced practice providers preferred. Strong clinical skills, including phlebotomy, injections, and patient assessment. Proficiency with EHR systems and medical documentation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities. Ability to work independently with little supervision while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Must be located in or able to commute to Anchorage, Alaska. Desired Characteristics Self-motivated and highly dependable. Able to prioritize competing demands in a busy environment.
