Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and assist with medical procedures across various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will help ensure smooth clinic flow, accurate documentation, and a positive experience for every patient. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and vital signs, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including medication administration, X-ray setup, and basic life support (BLS) protocols. Support clinical staff with tasks such as specimen collection, wound care, and assisting during minor procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings. Manage medical administrative support duties including appointment scheduling, ICD coding for diagnoses, and maintaining organized patient records. Conduct physiological assessments by applying knowledge of anatomy and physiology to monitor patient status during hospital or emergency medicine encounters. Assist with emergency situations in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers by providing vital support in trauma response protocols. Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines or other diagnostic tools under supervision while adhering to safety standards. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff. Requirements Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; current certification required. Proven experience working in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics; hospital experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration procedures. Hands-on experience with EHR systems for accurate documentation and patient record management. Ability to perform vital signs assessment, patient intake procedures, and basic life support (BLS) certification required. Experience working in inpatient settings such as ICU (PICU), Geriatrics units, or Medical-surgical floors; Level I or Level II trauma center experience highly valued. Familiarity with X-ray procedures and emergency medicine protocols is advantageous. Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service and teamwork in fast-paced environments like outpatient clinics or hospital settings. $80,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
