Our offices are located at St. Vincent's East, St. Vincent's St. Clair, St. Vincent's Blount and St Vincent's Birmingham. We are actively seeking a Medical Assistant/CCMA/CMA to work as a floater and Bariatric. To be considered as a candidate, you should have the following: Must have certification from a medical assistant program, military medical corpsman program or have proven years of Medical Assistant experience. One to two years of experience in a medical setting is a must. Experience in Bariatrics is a plus. Have a high school diploma, bachelor's degree, or equivalent. Familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems. eClinicWorks experience is preferred. but not required. Must show up to work and be here on time. Candidate will be responsible for the following duties: Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality. Coordinating the daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, collecting co-pays/deductibles and patient medical record maintenance. Obtaining Prior Authorizations for imaging and surgery. Answering Medical Assistant phone calls. Cleaning rooms and making sure they are stocked with supplies. Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care. Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families. Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA. A basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for medical assistant practice scope. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
