Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Bibb Medical Associates (BMA). As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our medical staff. Your primary role will be to assist our Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in delivering quality healthcare services to our pediatric patients. Your contribution to our team will be critical in ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care possible.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certificate or diploma as a Certified Medical Assistant from an accredited institution. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pediatric experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Collect detailed patient medical history. Measure and record vital signs. Assist the provider with procedures. Venipuncture, conduct waived lab testing. Administer injections/medications as ordered by the provider. Obtain insurance pre-certs and prior authorizations. Primarily perform pediatric referrals/appointments as ordered by the provider. Take inventory of supplies and reordering as needed. Assist with patient refills. Prioritize phone calls with questions for the provider. Abide by HIPAA regulations to ensure all health information is secure. Ensure the patient environment is safe and secure. Ensuring that medical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained. Providing exceptional patient care and support to our medical staff.
