Job Description

Primary Responsibilities/Requirements:
Assist various orthopedic physicians under the direction of Office Manager Provide coverage for clinical teams as needed Perform general nursing duties Perform suture/staple removal Perform wound care/dressing changes Drawing up meds; calling in medications Application of sterile fields Application and removal of casts and splints Locate any necessary imaging, test results or reports for upcoming appointments Schedule and pre-cert. MRI'S, lab work, procedures, and surgeries Prepare exam rooms, restock supplies for clinic, power up computers, etc. Prepare for clinic by printing out patient information as requested by physician Assist with verifying pre-op labs and scheduling surgery clearances as needed Assist other team members as needed Fill out disability, return-to-work, and insurance forms Obtain physician signature on miscellaneous forms Assist in Call Center/Registration, scheduling appointments, registering patients in system, verifying insurance and collecting copays/deductibles Travel locally to satellite offices as schedule requires Friendly and Professional patient communication when answering and returning patient phone calls, providing various forms of patient education and handouts, escorting patients to and from exam rooms, appointment/surgery reminder calls, responding to and chart patient messages and communicating test results to patients with direction from physician Must also possess: HS/GED required Ability to communicate effectively with patients, DOC physicians and staff Ability to work under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines Outstanding organizational, verbal and writing skills Independent, self-starting and highly motivated Strong patient care and interpersonal skills Proven positive, "teamwork" attitude and work history Minimum one-year full time clinical experience in healthcare preferred
Physical Demands:
