Job Description

Avalon Family Care is a family medicine practice and medspa in Madison, AL. This is a small office that is seeking a full-time certified medical assistant with experience in the medical field . Candidates must be compassionate, personable, provide exceptional customer service, and be interested in working on a small team to grow a practice. We are seeking an individual who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, has a passion for health care, has experience working with patients of all ages and is comfortable working on a team.
Responsibilities:
Triaging patients and entering information into EMR Taking a complete medical history and charting in EMR Assisting during medical examinations and procedures Preparing and cleaning treatment rooms and medical instruments Maintain cleanliness of the clinic and monitor availability of lab supplies. Calling patients to follow-up and help coordinate care Ability to communicate professionally with clinicians, nurses, allied health staff, administrative staff, frontline staff, patients, family members of patients, suppliers, and the public Ensuring patient satisfaction, including troubleshooting when there is a complaint and developing process of improvements to prevent recurrences Sending and managing patient referrals and prior authorizations Ensuring total confidentiality of personal, health and financial data Additional desired skills and abilities: Must be comfortable working on a team Must be a reliable , self-starter with the ability to troubleshoot without assistance Must be good at multitasking Knowledge of Medical Terminology and HIPAA Great communication skills , both written and verbal Spanish-speaking (strongly preferred, but not required)
