Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant Float to join our growing team of 6 medical assistants.
  • MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE WEEKLY
  • You will play a key role in supporting providers and ensuring a smooth, positive experience for our patients in high-volume clinic settings. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical and administrative skills, with preferred experience in pain management and a working understanding of interventional pain procedures as well as eClinicalWorks EMR experience.
  • eClinicalWorks experience required.
Contractor service agreement acceptance prior to transition to full-time employee (if applicable). We currently have a collaborative team of four Medical Assistants , and due to increasing patient volume and a third nurse practitioner to be added to the team, we are adding to the team to continue providing timely and compassionate care. Key Responsibilities Greet and prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments. Measure and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, weight, etc.). Accurately document patient history, chief complaints, and other pertinent medical information in the EMR system. Accurately document Pill Counts Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures, especially on procedure days. Transport patients to and from procedure rooms and assist with caregiver coordination. Provide clear instructions and education to patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and aftercare. Schedule appointments, including surgical procedures , with close attention to detail and protocol compliance. Understand and apply guidelines related to blood thinners/anticoagulants when scheduling and preparing for procedures as well as protocol for stopping GLP-1 agents for sedation. Process outgoing referrals, follow up on labs, imaging, and procedure results. Manage Telephone Encounters via incoming calls, messages, and emails with professionalism and efficiency, daily Maintain clean, well-stocked, and organized exam and procedure rooms. Ensure HIPAA compliance and adhere to all sanitation and infection control protocols. Greet patients for their urine analysis if applicable, Room patients and take vitals and correctly document Pill Counts via paperwork and EMR Preferred Experience & Skills Experience in pain management or interventional pain procedures is highly preferred. Strong understanding of pre-procedural requirements , including blood thinner management or stopping GLP-1 agents for sedation requirements . Proven ability to prioritize scheduling tasks , particularly in a high-volume clinical environment . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; patient-centered and team-oriented. Proficient in medical terminology and outpatient workflows. Comfortable with EMR systems (ideally eClinicalWorks) and digital documentation. Detail-oriented, efficient, and able to multitask under pressure. Ability to take and interpret vital signs accurately.
