This position ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care while promoting efficient daily operations and a seamless patient experience.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments Prepare and maintain examination rooms, medical equipment, and supplies Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints accurately Administer medications, injections, and vaccines as directed by the provider and within scope of practice Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic laboratory procedures as needed Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up care Verify insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations Manage patient intake, registration, and medical documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system Respond to patient inquiries, phone calls, and messages in a professional and timely manner Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and clinic policies and procedures Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical and front office areas Support a positive patient experience by providing compassionate, courteous, and efficient service High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant diploma required. Medical Assistant Certification required within one (1) year of employment. Proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Experience with Athenahealth is highly preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused, team-oriented environment. Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Reliable transportation is required, as occasional travel to other clinic locations may be necessary based on business and operational needs.
