Job Description

Buckeye Surgery Center is a physician-owned ambulatory surgery center that specializes in Ophthalmology. We are seeking a Medical Assistant for our ambulatory surgery center who can provide our patients with high quality, personal and efficient care. We are looking for an individual that conveys our company's core values of individualized care, compassion, and respect. We are looking for an exceptional individual who is excited to be a true team player in our high-tech, personalized surgery center. Our Medical Assistants work in both the front and back office of the clinic. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-past environment while providing excellent care to our patients. Front Office Duties Welcoming patients by greeting them, in person or on the phone in addition, to answering and directing inquiries from patients and referring providers. Registering, scheduling, and confirming appointments. Verifying patient demographic information and update as needed Collecting co-pay and past due balances Verifying Insurances Back Office Duties Under the supervision of a registered nurse, safely performs duties of a medical assistant to include but not limited to, assisting in the perioperative and postoperative care of patients throughout the facility. Follow established protocols for connecting patient monitors, taking vital signs, admitting, and discharging patient care activities under the direction of a registered nurse. Discontinue intravenous therapy and apply dressing under the direction of a registered nurse. Safely move, transfer, and transport patients onto transport vehicles and to and from private cars (wheelchairs, stretchers, patient beds, OR beds).
Responsibilities:
Adheres to staffing schedules, attendance policy, and cooperates with daily assignments as requested. • Demonstrates skills as a team player. Experience:
High School Diploma or GED Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program or Certified Medical Assistant preferred. Bilingual a plus
