Job Description

Patient Care :
We are currently located in Chino Valley Arizona. We will be relocating to Prescott in the fall of 2026. As a Medical Assistant, you will work closely with our dermatology providers to assist in patient care, conduct medical procedures, and ensure the smooth operation of the office. This role is critical to ensuring that our patients receive top-tier care in a comfortable and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for examination by taking a full dermatology history, documenting intake as necessary, and performing basic assessments. Assist the dermatology NP with medical and cosmetic procedures, including preparing instruments, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Provide patient education on dermatologic conditions, treatments, and post-care instructions. Take and process patient photos for medical or cosmetic purposes (with patient consent). Administer lidocaine injections as necessary for procedures such as biopsies, excisions and removals of benign lesions. Ensure patient comfort during procedures and assist with any questions or concerns they may have.
Administrative Support :
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including entering patient information into the EMR system. Assist with patient check-in/check-out, verifying insurance information, and collecting co-pays or payments as needed. Ensure that medical supplies and equipment are stocked and organized. Manage lab work, pathology, sending to labs, and following up on results. Perform basic office tasks such as answering phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, and assisting the front desk team when needed.
Clinical Duties :
Perform Clinical documentation before, during and after patient visits at the directive of the provider. Perform routine lab collections (e.g. culture samples), perform Urine hCG test, and prepare test results for review by the provider. Ensure proper consent forms are obtained prior to procedures. Sterilize and prepare exam rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment is available for procedures. Assist with biopsies, excisions, and other dermatologic and cosmetic procedures as instructed. Assist with the administration of patient medication, including topical treatments or injections. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, following infection control and safety protocols. Clean and sterilize instruments daily after clinical completion.
Team Collaboration :
Work closely with provider and front office staff to provide exceptional patient care and ensure smooth office operations. Communicate with the office manager when supplies are low in rooms and inventory cabinets to ensure there is an understanding of how much supplies are being utilized daily. Communicate effectively with patients, addressing concerns and providing necessary follow-up.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) preferred. Previous experience in a dermatology is a must. Please do not apply unless you have dermatology experience. Knowledge of dermatologic conditions, treatments, and medical terminology. Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Ability to take and record vital signs, perform basic clinical procedures, and administer injections or medications. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, providers, and team members. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multitasking environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, not a requirement.
Pay:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
