Job Description

Fast growing, employee focused vascular practice looking for a positive and energetic Medical Assistant!
  • Vascular Experience preferred
  • Travel to other sites may be required!
  • Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Answering telephones and transferring to appropriate staff
  • Greeting patients and/or visitors
  • Updating and scanning patient medical records
  • Filling out insurance forms
  • Handling correspondence
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Taking medical history and documenting in patients EMR
  • Recording Vital Signs
  • Explaining Treatment Procedures to Patients
  • Providing Education to Patients
  • Prepare Patients for Examination
  • Setting up and Assisting during Minor Procedures
  • Collect and Prepare laboratory specimens or perform basic laboratory tests
  • Dispose of Contaminated Supplies as per OSHA standards
  • Instruct Patients about Medications and Special Diets as Directed by Provider
  • Authorize Drug Refills/E-Prescriptions as Directed
  • Telephone Prescriptions to Pharmacy
  • Prepare Patients for testing
  • Remove Sutures and/or Staples
  • Change and Remove Dressings
  • Remove/Apply Unna Boot
  • Facilitate communication between the patient and other health care professionals
  • Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures
  • Inventory stock, placing orders, verifying receipt
  • Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures complying with legal regulations
  • Perform other duties as required
Position Qualifications:
Education:
  • Current Medical Assistant License
  • Current BLS certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Excellent Medical Teamwork Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
