Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Duties Answer incoming phone calls and faxes Collecting copay, deductible, coinsurance. Schedule appointments in system and confirms appointments prior to scheduled date. Take and respond to messages in a timely manner. Insurance eligibility verification prior to appointment. Prior authorization for medical procedures. Prior authorization for medications. Greets patients for scheduled appointments and verifies demographic and insurance information is accurate in the system. Maintains and stocks reception area and procedure room as needed. Prepares patients for examinations and procedures according to clinic procedures. Checks for accuracy and shows attention to detail in paperwork. Reports all observed patient concerns and changes in condition. Medication verification Monitors patients, post-procedure, in recovery room. Collection of urine samples. Monitor and clean patient examination rooms and equipment. Assists in routine clerical functions such as scanning of patient's records, obtaining medical records from other providers and entering charges for billing purposes. Monitors inventory of supplies. Compliance to OSHA and HIPAA regulation. Adheres to Policies and Procedures as defined by Practice. Skills Medical Assistant certificate or diploma required Must have at least 2 year experience working in a fast paced medical office and front office Must be able to multitask Reliable and trustworthy Friendly to patients and coworkers Knowledge of medical terminology Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent customer service skills Bilingual-Spanish preferred Pain management experience a plus.
