About Us:
We are a multi-provider gastroenterology practice in Mesa, AZ, committed to providing exceptional, patient-centered care. We are seeking a friendly and organized Administrative Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for our patients and support the smooth operation of our front office.
Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant is the face of our practice, responsible for patient check-ins, check-outs, phone communication, and general front office coordination with heavy lean towards medical records. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, professional, and excels in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors in a courteous, welcoming manner Helping patients access their records and ensure compliance with HIPPA Check in/out patients and verify insurance and demographic information Collect copays and patient balances, issuing receipts accurately Answer multi-line phones, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately Prepare patient charts and documentation for upcoming appointments Assist with administrative tasks including filing, scanning, and faxing Monitor waiting area and maintain cleanliness and organization
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required At least 1 year of front office experience in a healthcare setting Knowledge of medical insurance processes and HIPAA compliance Excellent communication and customer service skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR software Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
