JOB SUMMARY
Performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of the Clinic Manager and Attending Physician. Responsible for assisting all clinical providers as needed in the clinical setting while adhering to all company policies and procedures. This position has no direct reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Rooms all patients according to the specifications of the clinic and provider
  • Prepares charts for all clinical patients
  • Performs in-take of all required patient vital signs and clinical information with proper documentation
  • Assists with queuing and preparing prescriptions for provider approval
  • Entering orders per provider written or verbal instruction for final provider approval and signature
  • Performs set up and administers injections under provider supervision
  • Enters all required information into the EHR system according to company protocol
  • Collects, packages and documents all UDS's as requested from provider and according to regulation
  • Completes Checklists and related paperwork as required for Blood Thinners, Procedures and RFAs and work restrictions
  • Adheres to Bloodborne Pathogen Plan and proper Universal precautions when required in the clinical setting
  • Responsible for reviewing and adhering to Company practices and Clinical policies and procedures
  • Additional duties as requested according to position scope of practice
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience, Knowledge/Understanding High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Diploma of completion from accredited/approved Medical Assistant program; or completion of an unapproved medical assistant training program and passage of the medical assistant examination administered by either the American Association of Medical Assistants or the American Medical Technologists
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/First Aid Certification
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Must have access to reliable transportation Skills Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work in high-pressure situations Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor Proficient in the use of a PC; in a Windows environment, and the use of MS applications such as Outlook Proficient in the use of EHR systems Abilities Ability to adhere to strict attendance and punctuality polices • Ability to work both independently, as well as collaboratively with others to achieve common goals • Ability to identify and solve problems • Ability to provide excellent customer service (patient care), deal with difficult patients and work effectively under pressure to ensure of positive patient experience • Ability to quickly and accurately take dictation/document others' notes in real-time • Ability to attend to details Ability to demonstrate Pain Doctor's core values and performance principles of leadership, integrity, kindness, excellence, and service Physical Demands • Frequent walking, standing and sitting on a daily basis • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 25 pounds • Ability to travel between multiple clinics up to 25% of the time Preferences • Previous experience as a medical assistant • Bilingual • Pain management experience
