Medical Assistant Wings of Hope Medical Service Phoenix, AZ Job Details Full-time $19 - $23 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Medical coding Medical scheduling Administrative experience Medical administrative support Clinical documentation Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant to join our team in a dynamic healthcare environment. This practice is primarily a mobile primary care group. A small percentage of actual in office patients. High volume of calls. The ideal candidate will support providers and patients and serve as a point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while providing essential administrative support. This role is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of our office. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing them with necessary information and assistance. Manage incoming calls, directing them to appropriate departments or personnel. Schedule appointments and mapping of home visits for patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. MA duties including vitals, blood draw, some testing, like electrocardiograms. Maintain patient records and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Assist with billing inquiries and coding processes as needed. Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate patient flow within the clinic or hospital. Handle administrative tasks including data entry, authorizations, referrals and managing correspondence. Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration is a plus. Previous experience as a MA or in a similar role within a hospital or clinical setting preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology related to geriatrics, X-Ray, medical-surgical procedures, and Level II Trauma Center operations is advantageous. Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on customer service. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of coding practices related to outpatient services is beneficial.
