In this vital role, you will provide compassionate support to patients and healthcare providers across a variety of medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and specialized units. Your skills in clinical procedures, medical documentation, and patient communication will help ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality care delivery. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records gMed/Mod Med (EHR systems) Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with accuracy and professionalism Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient clinics or inpatient units, including dermatology, internal medicine, or emergency medicine settings Support physicians and nurses with clinical tasks such as medication administration, specimen collection, X-ray preparation, and basic life support (BLS) procedures Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols Document patient interactions thoroughly using medical terminology and ICD coding for accurate record-keeping Assist with hospital-based procedures in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers, including intraoperative or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) support when needed Requirements Valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; prior experience in hospital medicine or outpatient clinics is highly desirable Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to accurately support patient care activities Experience working in diverse settings such as dermatology clinics, urgent care centers, or geriatrics units; hospital experience preferred Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation and billing purposes; familiarity with ICD coding is a plus Ability to perform clinical duties including vital signs measurement, intake assessments, medication administration, and basic life support certification (BLS) required Prior exposure to emergency medicine environments or Level I Trauma Centers is advantageous Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations Capable of working efficiently in inpatient or outpatient settings with a focus on patient safety and quality care This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to advance their career in healthcare while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives.
