We serve patients of all ages, from children to seniors, with a special focus on LGBTQ+ care and integrative health. We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly organized Medical Assistant to join our team in our Tempe and Phoenix clinics. This position reports to the Medical Office Manager and works closely with our Nurse Practitioners to support clinical and administrative functions that ensure seamless patient care. What You'll Do As a Medical Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting providers and delivering an exceptional patient experience. Clinical Responsibilities Perform patient intake, including obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit. Assist providers during examinations and office procedures. Administer injections and perform venipuncture. Provide patients with pre
- and post-appointment instructions.
Support preventative and routine clinical procedures. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Administrative Responsibilities Process referrals, authorizations, and patient assistance program enrollments. Support scheduling and patient communications. Answer phones and assist with front-office operations as needed. Complete filing, faxing, scanning, and other administrative tasks. Anticipate provider needs and proactively assist with daily workflow. Team & Patient Support Deliver exceptional customer service to patients in person and over the phone. Collaborate effectively with Nurse Practitioners and office staff. Support an inclusive and welcoming environment for all patients, including members of the LGBTQ+ community. Adapt quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, service-oriented setting. Qualifications Required Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience. Experience obtaining vital signs, administering injections, performing venipuncture, assisting with procedures, and documenting in EMR systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and digital scheduling systems. Fluent in English. Comfortable learning and using new technologies. Preferred Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). Bilingual in Spanish. Experience with Athena EMR. Knowledge of Value-Based Care scheduling and documentation. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Understanding of LGBTQ+ healthcare needs and culturally competent care. Schedule Full-Time | Four 10-Hour Shifts Per Week Candidates must be available to work shifts within the following clinic hours:
Monday:
8:30 AM
- 7:00 PM Tuesday
Thursday:
6:30 AM- 7:00
PM Friday:
6:30 AM
- 4:00 PM One Saturday per month (3rd Saturday): 7:30 AM
