Medical Assistant (Gap Year Pre-Med Opportunity) Specialists in Dermatology | Full-Time | $18.00/hr

$18.00 per hour
Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week

Medical, dental, and vision insurance | Paid time off (PTO) About the Role Specialists in Dermatology is looking for a motivated and personable Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. This position is ideal for gap-year students planning to apply to medical school, PA school, nursing school, or other healthcare professional programs who want to gain meaningful, hands-on clinical experience in a fast-paced dermatology practice. You will work directly alongside providers, developing clinical skills and an understanding of dermatology that will strengthen your future applications and career. Responsibilities Room patients, obtain medical histories, and prepare for provider visits Assist providers with dermatology procedures and treatments Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) Educate patients on post-procedure care and instructions Maintain clean, organized, and stocked exam rooms Cross-train and assist at the front desk as needed (scheduling, check-in/out, phones) Collaborate with teammates to keep the clinic running smoothly What We're Looking For Strong customer service skills and a warm, professional demeanor with patients Problem-solver who thinks on their feet in a busy clinical environment Comfortable working at a fast pace without sacrificing accuracy or care A true team player who pitches in wherever needed Flexibility to cross-train at the front desk when the team needs support Spanish speaker preferred (bilingual ability is a plus) Qualifications A Bachelors Degree or equivalent from an accredited university is mandatory Previous clinical or healthcare experience a plus but not required Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) Strong communication and organizational skills Genuine interest in medicine and patient care Must be willing to travel between our locations and have a reliable mode of transportation Why This Role?
