Job Description

Family Health Matters (FHM) is a rapidly growing Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving families and the community in Anaheim, CA and surrounding areas. As an FQHC we serve all people with quality healthcare, dignity, and respect. Among our wide array of services, we offer comprehensive primary care, OB-GYN, vision and mental/behavioral health, patient navigation and outreach and enrollment services. Our team is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and highly organized Medical Assistant to join the team! The Medical Assistant II works closely with patients and clinical teams to create positive patient experiences in support of Family Health Matters Community Health Center's mission to work in partnership with our community to improve the lifelong health and well-being of our patients. The best candidate for this position: is bilingual in Spanish with a knowledge of medical terminology Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited program and current BLS certification is experienced with the Vaccines for Children Program has 3 years of work experience working as a back office medical assistant in a medical clinic or healthcare environment Is experienced with blood draws, procedures, and administering injections and immunizations. has reliable attendance and a positive attitude at all times to coworkers and patients and is a dependable, self-motivated and a proactive team player.
Schedule:
4-day, 10-hour shifts per week, with flexibility to cover Saturdays as needed based on operational needs. Work schedule days may be split with working hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $24.00 to $30.00 per hour, with compensation based on experience, qualifications, and a regular Saturday shift.
Work Setting:
In-clinic and may be assigned shifts at an off-site location such as a shelters, school, FRC or other community settings Essential duties and responsibilities: Specific duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Assist and support the clinical care team members with the delivery of patient care in accordance to the Medical Assistant scope of practice Maintains patient medical records, updating patient medical history, status including vital signs, medical treatments and medication provided. Reconcile information such as allergies, medications, immunizations and dates of screening exams. Prepares for patient visits. Reviews the patient's medical record for completeness, including requests for labs, referrals and correspondence (i.e. ER discharge notes). Verifies and ensures necessary reports are present. Updates provider and care team as needed. Performs clinical procedures, in-house labs and injections under supervision of Provider. Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow, rooms stocked with adequate supplies and maintain instruments.
