Responsibilities Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient and inpatient settings, including Level I and Level II trauma centers Support clinical staff with procedures like medication administration, X-ray preparation, and basic life support (BLS) when necessary Manage medical documentation using accurate ICD coding and maintain detailed records of patient interactions Facilitate effective communication between patients and healthcare providers by answering questions and providing clear instructions on treatment plans Assist with laboratory tasks such as specimen collection and processing in various specialties including geriatrics, internal medicine, or PICU settings Requirements Valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles Experience with EHR systems for documentation and patient data management Ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs collection, medication administration, and basic X-ray procedures Familiarity with ICD coding standards for accurate billing and record keeping Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU) Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications in emergency medicine or OR experience are a plus Join us to be part of a vibrant healthcare environment where your skills make a real difference.
